Steelers 3 - Blizzard 2 OT

A win they should have had.

The Blizzard didn't play their best tonight, twice they had a one goal lead but couldn't hold on.

You could tel by the time the third period rolled around that all the time spent on the PK took it's toll on the Blizzard.

Whenever they'd start to get things going they'd end up down a man.

Robak looked pretty solid in his Blizzard debut.

Bayer had trouble keeping up towards the end of the game, probably due to lack of big minutes early this season. He'd have to go back to his final playoff game with NorMan to find that much ice time played.

OCN just didn't have their mojo tonight.

Henry looked good again.

Here is how the scoring broke down"

  1. I listened to Fontaine's interview last night reguarding trades. I must say i do like most of the deals he has made so far but i think the need to aquire some help up front is a little more urgent than he appears to think it is. I think the back end is set from goaltenders to the 7th D, this appears to be the teams strong point. Now with TJ out and Baptiste and Chief gone the lack of depth upfront is really obvious. Sure the Blizzard have lots of bodies up front but a few of them are not junior A players and should be with the Storm which is probably the plan anyways, but Derek should no that the longer he waits to aquire a couple of proven forwards the higher the price is. He is not prepared to give up yong players to get these kind of guys but that is what teams want if you wait until Dec. or Jan. to make these deals. I wonder what he will think Monday morning if the team goes 0-3 this weekend.

  2. I didn't listen to the interview with Fontaine and hear what he had to say about Baptiste/Chief. Was anything mentioned at all about why they left?

I do know that TJ's injuries aren't as severe as one may think. He was banged up in Dauphin and is supporting a couple of injuries that may keep him out for the weekend. I'm sure he'll be ready for next weekend.
