They have a new goaltender in Landon Noel the Sudbury product who's been playing very well for the Stampeders. In the last two weeks they've been climbing the standings as before they were in dead last in the MJHL they're now only one point behind Dauphin for second in the Sher-Wood division.
Noel is a perfect 4-0 since coming to the Stamps via trade from the MHL, he has a 1.96 GAA and .932 sv %. Meanwhile Dylan Reimer has found his scoring touch as he has 8 points in seven games and leads Swan Valley in scoring with seven goals and seven assists.
The Stampeders are coming off a 4-2 win over the Virden Oil Capitals in Virden, Dylan Reimer was the games first star scoring two goals.

The last time these two teams played OCN shutout Swan Valley in their own barn on the second half of a home and home.
Swan is a very different team this time around.
It will be another tough game for the Blizzard.
Injury update:
Captain TJ Constant makes his return to the lineup tonight, Thomas Ward-Cardinal rode the bike for the first time yesterday and is about two weeks away from returning and Taylor Santorelli hurt his back/neck in Neepawa and might be unavailable.
Puck drop is at 7:30, pregame at 7:15.
Enjoy your Saturday!

I think tonight will tell us if the Blizz are for real. Swan is hot and if the Blizz can knock them off in their own building it would be huge.
ReplyDeleteI agree, will be a tough test, but the Blizz are also getting a huge boost with TJ back in the lineup.
ReplyDeleteWell I know for a fact that we are for real win or loose tonight but I agree that a win would sure prove to others that we can't be taking lightly. Hope the roads are good as we are going to be making the hike to support the BLIZZ!! Go Blizz Go!
ReplyDeleteGetting tj back is a huge boost but I hope he is ready and didn't rush back too early.
ReplyDeleteI would say the Blizzard are for real after whooping Portage twice in their own barn. OCN is for real right now win or lose tonight.
ReplyDeleteWell the Blizz got it handed to them last night, hopefully they can do the same back to the Stamps next game at the GLMC. Listened to Derek's interview last night and when Brad asked him if he felt he needed to make a deal or two to keep up with what other teams are doing he said no. I don't think i agree with that, Dauphin and Swan are making moves to get better and are or have closed the gap. The loss of chief and Baptiste is still hurting and they haven't been replaced. The new guys Sharp and Petrino give us more depth at the bottom but we are still short a vet or two up front. The longer he waits to address this the more that guy or guys will cost. If you stand still and are not trying to improve every day you'll get left in the dust.
ReplyDeleteSwan 8 points back with 4 games in hand, Dauphin 9 points back with 4 games in hand. Don't be fooled by the points total Derek we're really not ahead of these teams. Go out and get what you need now and don't wait until the last minute like the guys before you did. yes that means some good kids are going to have to be released or traded or sent to junior B but that's hockey.
ReplyDeleteYa maybe if you look at it that way but have a look at the schedule, we have faired well considering we have had the worst schedule so far. Stay positive and watch things get better yet.
