Blizzard at Virden - Preview

The Blizzard (18-7-2) were 3-0 against Waywayseecappo (10-11-2) before last night, the same is true against Virden (10-10-5) heading into tonight's game.

Virden is a very young team and are building for the future.

The Oil Capitals were blown out 5-1 by the Kings last night. Virden only had 15 shots on goal.

As for OCN a  6-5 shootout loss was a tough pill to swallow. Justin McDonald told me this morning that it was his first career shootout loss and now sits at 7-1.

The Blizzard played last nights game without Ralph Cochrane (home sick), Wilson Dumais (home for personal reasons), Garick Gray (concussed) and TJ Constant left the game in the first period with a hip pointer. The same injury that kept Tyler Grove out of the lineup for a month. TJ will be out for an extended period of time as well and will not be playing tonight.

So all the Blizzard players will be in the lineup tonight. Alex Henry will get the start.

Here is how the lines will break down to start.

Goal

Alex Henry - Starter
Justin McDonald - Backup

Defense

Elmes / Ward-Cardinal
Bruyere / Fontaine
Kavanaugh / Robak

Forwards

Grove / Bayer / B.Constant
Swampy / Valiquette / Petrino
Chief / Baptiste / Cardinal
MacInnis / Cameron / Lathlin

  1. Wow...pretty slim. Curse of the captain it seems around here. Hope things go well tonight. A great opportunity for some of these guys to show what they can contribute. Go Blizz Go!
