Early scoring chance for Nipawin as the Blizz turn it over in front of the net, but they hit the crossbar.
3:07 - Edward Bayer misses a great chance all alone in front of the Hawks net but can't convert.
3:39- Joey Sutherland rings it off the post as he took a wrist shot from the high slot.
5:20 - Hawks score, pass out in front goes off McDonalds pad and in the net. 1-0 shots at 5-4 Nipawin. Goal scored by David Heath, assisted by Blair Macuch.
5:45 - Kirkland Chief takes an elbowing penalty. Blizz on the PK.
7:45 - Blizzard kill off the penalty -- back to 5-5 play. Shots are even at 5-5.
9:28 - Brad Swampy shoots the puck into the crowd and almost hits yours truly. Shots 6-5 Nipawin.
10:06- Thomas Ward-Cardinal makes a great backhand pass from the back of the net to the front through a crowd. Sutherland missed his shot from the high slot.
13:20- McDonald makes two great saves in a row one on a partial break, the other on a turnover by Kirkland Chief - Shots 8-5 Nipawin.
16:50 - BLIZZARD SCORE - Wilson Dumais ties it -- 1-1 great solo effort cutting in on the right side then cutting across the middle through two defenders before going low blocker on the Hawks tender. Assisted by Kolton Baptiste and Kirkland Chief
18:30 - Nipawin takes a penalty - Blizz on PP
19:00 - Blizz take a penalty - Darien Cardinal 4-4 for 1:30.
19:30 - Chief gets a breakaway but is stopped by Davis Jones.
After 1 period of play the score is 1-1. Now into the first intermission.
2ND PERIOD
2:40- Wilson Dumais gets a good scoring chance out front. 10-10
2:55- Grant Valiquette with a great feed out front to Garrick Gray but he gets stoned by the Hawks goaltender Davis Jones.
5:07- Hawks score - Dustin Skilliter at the side of the net stuffs it past Justin McDonald. Unassisted
6:26- Justin McDonald makes one hell of a cross crease save on a 2-0. Shots 16-12 for the Hawks
6:50 - Tad Kozun makes it 3-1 Nipawin off a turnover in the slot by Kirkland Chief. Assists to Balog and King.
10:27- Blizzard going to the powerplay.
12:30- Tons of great scoring chances for the Blizzard... but they can't score.
15:00 - Ward-Cardinal with a great feed from the point to Grant Valiquette at the side of the net but Jordan Liem make a great save.
Now into the 2nd intermission with the shots at 20-18 in favour of Nipawin.
3RD PERIOD
Puck has dropped and right away.
0:28- Wilson Dumais goes hard into the boards and is hurt. Gets up after a few minutes and skates to the bench, seems to be just the wind knocked out of him. Will let you know if he gets back on the ice.
0:53 - Kolton Baptiste takes a 2-minute penalty for slashing. Blizz on the PK.
1:19 - The Nipawin Hawks take a penalty 4-4 for the next 1:36.
2:51 - Dumais is back on the ice on for the Powerplay. Only 20 Seconds however. McDonald makes a big glove save as I type this. Shots 23-20 in favour of Nipawin.
4:44 - Furious pressure by Nipawin here, Ward-Cardinal finally breaks the puck out of the play and the Hawks will take a penalty as Bryce MACINNIS -- gets elbowed. Blizz to the PP.
6:45- Blizzard unable to get anything going on the PP and will kill it with 12 seconds left as Tyler Grove takes a hooking Penalty.
8:45- Blizzard kill off the 1:48 of PK time on the clock, back to 5-5 play.
8:50 - Long drive by Ralph Cochrane is stopped by Liem.
9:39- Ralph Cochrane takes a tripping penalty. Blizz to the PK.
10:20- BIGGGGG NASTYYYY (Bruyere) with a HUGE hit just inside the Hawks blueline. Shots 25-20 Nipawin.
10:38- Nipawin makes it 4-1 Goal scored byLambert assisted by, Doell.
13:22 - Tyler Grove takes a slashing penalty. Blizz to the PK
14:34 - Nipawin scores on the Powerplay, wrist shot from the point hits the cross bar and in. Goal by Williamson, assissted by Klatt.
16:30- Another penalty to OCN as Ralph Cochrane takes a holding penalty.
