NorMan Northstars (2-6)
The Norman Northstars finished up their weekend on the road with a pretty good showing for 4 games in 4 days. They Picked up two wins and 4 out of 8 possible points. Lodie Ipeelie (Blizzard prospect) led the way with 5 points and now leads the team with 9 on the season. The Northstars are now sitting with a 2-6 record for the season.
Next Game: They are at home this weekend to the Interlake Lightning on Friday and Saturday at the CA Nesbitt in Thompson.
NorMan Wild (0-5)
The Norman Wild Female AAA team was on the road as well this weekend. They lost all three of their games with the first 2 Friday and Saturday against the Westman wildcats and the third game against the Yellowhead chiefs.
Next Game: The Wild are at home this weekend in Thompson hosting the Pembina Valley Hawks. The first one is on Saturday at 430 and the second game is Sunday.
OCN STORM (0-6)
The OCN Jr.B Storm went oh fer again this weekend scoring just one goal in the two games played. They lost 13-1 to the Winnipeg Satellites and were shutout 5-0 by the Selkirk Fishermen.
Next Game: Thursday at home to the Norway House Northstars.
FLIN FLON BOMBERS (9-3)
The Flin Flon Bombers left the town built into the rock last Tuesday with high expectations heading into a long four game in five night roadtrip. By the end the crew came back with just one win a 4-3 victory over Estevan on Saturday.
Thompsons Red Sangster Receives Diamond Jubilee
The Senior men’s baseball league held their annual general meeting on Saturday night. Red Sangster received a queen’s diamond jubilee medal presented by MLA Steve Ashton and M.P Niki Ashton. Also Red will be stepping down as President of the league after 50 years. Best of wishes to Red who is a baseball pioneer not only in the North but across Manitoba.
