Blizzard 5 - Stampeders 6 OT

The Blizzard fall to a divisional rival chasing them in the standings for the second game in a row.  The Stampeders had 47 shots on Alex Henry including 23 in the second frame alone.

Too many shots against, too many scoring chances and too many turnovers killed the Blizzard tonight.

Justin Waskewitch looked much better, Thomas Ward-Cardinal had another 2 points night.

Richard Olson picked up the hat trick with his new team including the game winner in overtime as Landon Peel slid the puck back door to Olson who simply had to tap it into the open cage.

Just a lite recap for tonight, more tomorrow.

    1. AGREED! TRADE EM ALL AWAY. ALL OF 'EM GOOD FOR NOTHING.... Not like they've been first place in the league all season, winning roughly 70 percent of their games on the road...

"Unbelievable" ? You can't believe the team lost on the road, against a good team...?

The team is missing an entire line of top six players, TJ, Gray and Tagoona.

It's hockey, bad stretches happen, they took a point on the road against a solid Stampeders team in a pretty tough building, and they had a crappy third at home against Dauphin and blew it.

These are 17,18,19,20 year old kids. Not NHL'ers, consistency is always an issue, it is with every team. They've lost 2 in a row, yes it's against divisional rivals, but it happens.

      Relax.

    2. Good one Brad some people feel that the team needs to win every game. It's good to loose a few and from what I heard even though we didn't play our game, we still should have won and outplayed them in the overtime. Wait til our line up gets back and we have those four solid lines. If we stay out of the box and play 60 minutes there shouldnt be any reason we won't get back on track.

    3. People need to simply realize that no team will go undefeated, it certainly stings when they are four point games like they were this weekend, those are MONSTER games... but back to the drawing board is a little over the top.
