OCN 4 - Virden 1

Welcome Back Kolton... or Kotter.

One was a teacher, the other a hockey player. All the same right?

Kolton Baptiste had one heck of a comeback game tonight.

Baptiste intimidated physically and laid the body on from his first shift. He scored in the third period off a turnover just inside the line and got a standing ovation from the GLMC faithful.

Here's an interview with Kolton after tonight's game. The players love having him back, he's a good guy in the room.

The first period was some great hockey, the Oil Capitals came out firing and played the Blizzard very very well. The second period was sloppier and OCN couldn't get their jump going as usual but in the third period Wilson Dumais scored a beauty to put the Blizzard up by 1.

Garick Gray would add an empty netter his 15th of the year and wrestle the league goal scoring title away from Virden's Richard Olson in the dying seconds of the game.

The Blizzard's physical play wore out the Oil Capitals by the third period and their offense came alive thanks to the Gray, Valiquette and Dumais line. Again Dumais had a tremendous game and stayed out of the box for the third game in a row.

The Blizzard move to 15-6-1 on the season and pick up their 31st point of the season. They face Virden again on Wednesday. We won't be broadcasting that game nor any games from the upcoming swing to the Winnipeg area next weekend. We'll be back on the air with the Brandon road trip in 2 weeks!

Here is Derek Fontaine's interview from the first intermission. Again we chat about Baptiste and Chief as well as Tim Perks.

Chief was up in the press box tonight, a big smile on his face, certainly happy to rejoin the club.
