Blizzard 2 - Terriers 5

Ouch.

That one hurt, the Blizzard kept it close but for the second night in a row too many guys were coasting. Again the only line that played was the one with Gray on it, Elmes on the back end was a stud again.

Those two along with MacDonald are the heart and soul of this team, and it hurts to watch them have to carry the team.

Cochrane played well also I thought, again Petrino and Sharp gave energy. It just seems like for the last five games the Blizzard start strong but can't finish, they've been snake bitten... badly.

McDonald had no help tonight.

PK is a mess, the PP was about as alive as the Zombie walk a few weeks back.

The players just seemingly have stopped playing.

Here's a post game interview with Clay DeBray.

  1. I'm not going to throw anyone under the bus. I to thought a name that is to often forgot is Cochrane. Typical of most great Defensemen, he goes about his job un-noticed. When Ralph is on the ice you can count on good things happening. He is as slick as they come, never gets hit and always makes the right play. KEEP IT UP BLIZZ, what does that song say, Tough times don't last - tough people do!!!

    1. He is always very very consistent, he and Elmes are rocks on the back end. I do that against Swan on Wednesday Kirkup kept yelling about keying on "17 white" (Cochrane) when the Blizz were in the offensive zone.

  2. Brad, has anyone from the Blizzard staff said when they might start getting some of these injured guys back. Good thing this has happened when the team had a fairly light schedule. Hopefully the guys can get a win tonight against the last place Natives. Brad you said in an earlier post that you thought the Terriers might move Mckay at the dealine, what makes you think that they are a long way from being out of the race. As for trades i hope Derek can get one done sooner than later, if as you say there are a lot of guys coasting right now maybe a shake up is needed. Maybe guys will start putting in a better effort if they see one of their buddies traded

    1. Ward-Cardinal is still at least a week away, Santorelli is 4-6 weeks away and Grove has a hip pointer so he could be out a number of weeks as well.

As for McKay, he's someone many teams would love to have on their hands should the Terriers fall out of the race, they're doing very well right now and Spiller always finds a way to stay in the mix. -- Just speculation on my part.
